On Client Preferences in 2023
Part 1: Wellness
It's important for fitness coaches to stay informed about the evolving needs of consumers.
MindBody's recent survey of 17,000 fitness consumers revealed that the focus for many is now on "wellness," with 3 out of 4 respondents indicating that it's a priority.
However, it's important to note that the definition of wellness is different for everyone, and can extend beyond physical fitness to include aspects such as confidence, stress management, relationships, and mindset.
To stay ahead of the curve and continue to grow your impact and income as a coach, consider the following strategies:
- Update your messaging, online presence, and even attire to reflect the wellness focus of today's clients. This includes showing community, conversations, and additional services and amenities beyond traditional training.
- Be mindful of the vocabulary you use, both online and in person, to align with the interests of current clients. Give potential clients the opportunity to share their unique vision of wellness and, when appropriate, help them explore the topic further.
- Offer services and amenities that support the overall wellness goals of today's consumers, such as recovery services and social opportunities.
- Tailor your approach to each individual client, as the definition of "wellness" can vary greatly from person to person. Offering Behavior Coaching as a service can be particularly beneficial in this regard, as it allows dedicated time to discover what "wellness" means to each client and create an individualized plan to make that vision a reality.
By staying informed about the latest trends and opinions, and adapting your approach accordingly, you can maximize your impact and income as a coach.
